Extra Curricular Activities

Home About Us

We are very proud of the range of different opportunities that are provided for the children outside of the classroom. We have a wide range of clubs that run at lunchtimes, as well as before and after Academy Hours, which provide children with the opportunity to take part in activities they enjoy and perhaps develop new interests and skills. Clubs have included activities such as:

  • Netball
  • Book Club
  • Creativity
  • Sewing
  • Football
  • Art
  • Singing
  • Card Games
  • Hockey
  • Table Tennis
  • Drama

We aim to provide memorable moments for our children throughout their Academy life and do this through enrichment days and weeks with a particular focus (e.g. Literacy Weeks, etc). Each year group plans Educational Visits to enrich the curriculum and stimulate pupils. Over the past few years our children have visited a wide range of places such as the local church, Meadowview Environmental Centre, Hanningfield Reservoir, Marsh Farm. We also visit the theatre each year with our Year 6 pupils.

In Year 6, the children have the option to go away for a one week residential, where they stay at a purpose-built outdoor activity centre. In preparation for this, we slowly build up our residential visits, starting with the Year 3 day trip to Belchamps Outdoor Activity Cetnre. Year 4 are offered an over-night sleepover at Wat Tyler Country Park and Year 5 have the opportunity to take part in a residential weekend visit to Fairplay House.
