Pupil Assessment

Assessment is an ongoing process and takes place every day in your child's classroom. Marking is the most common form of assessment and is used to plan the next step in the children's learning, and to monitor their progress. Teachers will keep you up to date with their progress when you visit for the Parent Consultation meetings.

More formal assessment takes place at specific times, usually towards the end of the Academy's academic year, and is used to monitor the progress of a child across the year.

Key Stage 1

Standard Assessment Tests (SAT's) for Year 2 pupils will take place during the first half of the Summer Term.

Key Stage 2

Standard Assessment Tests (SAT's) for Year 6 pupils will take place during the month of May.
Non-Statutory Tests for Year 3, 4 and 5 pupils will take place during the second half of the Summer Term.

Please note that for Year 2 and Year 6 pupils, holidays will not be authorised during test periods.
